It only takes 18 seconds to change a bulb. If every American home replaced just one light bulb with an energy-efficient bulb, together we could save enough energy to light more than 2.6 million homes for a year. Find out how you can save energy and cash by making the switch to energy-efficient light bulbs... and check out how many have already sold in your area.

A small group of environmental organizations

Wed, Sep 19 —

Earth Day Network (EDN) has been working for more than a year to convince Congress to mandate the phase out of the incandescent bulb, of which there are 4 billion in the United States only. EDN is part of a small group of environmental organizations and lighting companies at the forefront of this fight, having participated actively in the negotiations for a legislative proposal to to begin the transformation from inefficient incandescent light bulbs to energy efficient light bulbs.

In March 2007 Earth Day Network launched a campaign to encourage people to replace their inefficient incandescent light bulbs with compact energy-saving ones. More than 103,000 bulbs have been pledged since, making Project Switch a huge success. Find out more at www.earthday.net.
