Green Resources

Helpful Tips for Using the Site Continued...

Whether we're scouring the web for reputable resources, so you don't have to, or trying new member-requested functionality on the site...our primary goal is to simplify the way each of us finds, reviews and shares green content.

From our perspective, we think it would be great if we could all go about our day and have hand-picked, green resources freshly delivered as they become available—via an easy feed, messenger or maybe email. But if it were as easy as that, probably there would be no need for this not so simple passion of ours.

Notably, we:

1. Broadened the list of categories for the site with hopes it would make it easier for you to find interesting topics (and the search engines too, hopefully). Sorry for the tiny navigation fonts, we promise a redesign at some point.
2. Updated our green jobs section to include easier navigation and search functionality. Hopefully it will prove useful?
3. Upgraded our RSS Feed (at least we're calling it an upgrade) to FeedBurner and added FeedFlare so you can use your favorite social media services directly from the Atom Feed. We also added the ability to subscribe to receive feed updates by email.
4. Enhanced the Add This widget (look for the button that says "Share") which has a lot more options to bookmark, email, StumbleUpon, Twitter and simply share and save your favorite resources, using your favorite social widgets.
5. Normalized our green tags (removing some) and fixed the RSS feeds so you can get more green granularity. To do so requires a little navigation and is maybe not so easy right now.

Questionably, we:

1. Are still evaluating green hosting companies that offer affordable solutions that can power Movable Type. So if you know one, one that uses strictly renewable energy and not carbon offsets, please share.
2. Are still searching for an affordable solar energy solution to power our home offices. Again, if you have ideas we would love to share.
