Nature is a weekly scientific journal and is the flagship journal for Nature Publishing Group (NPG). Launched in 1869, its original mission statement still leads the Group as they develop publications, explore opportunities arising from new technology and serve a growing audience of readers. NPG is a subsidiary of Macmillan Publishers Ltd, a global publishing group founded in the United Kingdom in 1843.
