Unite Bloggers for Human Rights

In show of our support to BlogCatalog and Amnesty International, we dedicate this rhetorical reflection on the topic of human and environmental rights to "those who speak out in defense of the environment [and] are often silenced."

Imagine, for a moment, "we are the world"—literally and symbolically. That nature is a direct reflection of our self; weather is our temperament; mountains and forests our body and limbs; water and streams our vessels; the health of the planet is directly connected to our personal health—the sun is our beating heart.

Imagine, for a moment, if someone said:

It was warming uncontrollably...would you feel feverish?
Mountain tops are being levelled...would you feel partial?
Languages and wildlife are expiring...would you feel speechless?
Crops are abundant...would you fill a mouth before your vehicle?
Humans are the environment...would you say they have rights?
We are blogging for human rights...are you willing to unite?

We are one—one planet, one body, one spirit, one mind—unity.

Take better care of self and others before we lose more rights. To all those who feel speechless, for today and for the future, you have our promise we'll be a voice for human rights—environmental. Unite.
